FAQ’s

What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a 5000 year old  traditional Chinese medicine using insertion and manipulation of ultra-thin filaments (we never use needles in any of our clinics) just beneath the skin, at very specific locations called acupuncture points. This signals and stimulates the body’s self-healing and self-repair mechanism. This is achieved when the correct use and combination of acupuncture points are used to improve blood flow to the affected,  organs, glands or tissues of the body. Acupuncture doesn’t heal the body, – the Body Heals The Body-, correct diagnosis and correct application of acupuncture help the body do what it does best, repair itself.

Out of 10 people who underwent acupuncture treatment, how many responded positively from it?

In 10 people that underwent acupuncture, 8 or more responded positively from the treatment. However, do note that advanced tissue damage as well as the severity of the condition, and the length that a condition has been the body will be a factor to a person’s ability to recover lost function. (Note, don’t wait until its too late)

Does Oriental Medicine (Acupuncture and Botanical herbs) actually work?

In recent years hundreds of research studies have shown the effectiveness of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine for various conditions and diseases, with more research coming out weekly.

Annually hundreds of research studies are published showing the negative effects of stress on the body. It is fact, through current research, that stress is causing adverse reactions and diseases in our population. We also know that current research on acupuncture shows how well it works for managing the negative effects of stress, regulating the nervous system, and reducing the stress response (fight or flight mechanism) in patients. If this was the only thing that acupuncture could do, and it’s not, then this would be sufficient enough evidence or reason to warrant its use in many medical conditions.

What types of illness or disorders can be treated by Oriental Medicine/Acupuncture?

The simplest way to understand Oriental Medicine (acupuncture and botanical medicine) is that it has been successfully used for over 5000 years to help return and maintain optimum body health and body functions, it is NOT used for acute life threatening conditions (such as injuries from a car crash, these need to be treated by an emergency room doctor). Acupuncture is used to help restore the flow of blood to any affected area of the body, an organ a gland or tissue. Botanical medicines are used much like giving your garden “miracle-gro” plant food, they  help give the body the needed nutrients that have been missing to support function regeneration.

Many conditions can be corrected and function returned.
